Questions and answers
What is the difference between Vedic and Western astrology?
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, fixed to the stars, and times life with dashas from the Moon's nakshatra. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, fixed to the seasons. The two zodiacs are now about 24° apart.
What is a mahadasha?
A major period of life ruled by one graha. The nine Vimshottari dashas add up to 120 years, starting from the graha that rules your Moon's nakshatra at birth.
